I have no problem burning a DVD that will work on computers, but they do not seem to work in the DVD players on my TV sets. I am good at computers, but in no way a pro. Can someone explain to me how to do this in a way I can understand? I am using Windows 7 on a brand new Dell computer.

Because most normal DVD player only recognize the standard video DVD, don’t recognize the data DVD(directly burn video files on disc), so you have to convert and burn your videos to standard video DVD, i am using rz dvd creator to do this well, it can create/burn standard video DVD from any videos, easy to use, you may have a try, hope it can help you.

We’re planning a trip to Disneyworld this year, but have decided to rent a minivan instead of flying. We have two young children. One is will turn 5 on the trip, and the other will be 1 1/2. We’re looking for a car rental place that has DVD players in their minivans, and also the best deals. How do you know when you’re getting the best deal?

I don’t think any car rental company will guarantee you a van with a dvd player. Are you getting the minivan from an airport location or one near your house? If it is near your house contact them and see if they can get you one and keep it for you.

I’m looking into purchasing a DVD and VHS recorder. I would like the ability to record DVDs and record from a VHS on to a DVD. However, one thing that I am curious about is this. Can you hook up a DVD/VHS recorder to your computer via USB or FireWire and back up data or media files to a DVD in the DVD/VHS recorder player?

I found a few on Ebay. Would I have this ability on these players?

I own a Panasonic DMR-EZ48V DVD+VHS recorder, and I am very happy with it. I got it for around $200. Most recorders do not allow you to connect your computer to it.

I need a new DVD/VCR combo with a TV antenna in and out connection. My old unit, which just died, had a VCR recorder, which I used to record various TV programs. I want to be sure, before I buy, that the DVD recorder can record over previous recordings, and if so, which would be the best DVD disks to buy and which is the best DVD combo. Thanks for your help.

ONLY

I have hooked it to 2 tv sets, and it plays in black & white. Why no color?

Have you tried each one by itself? How about turning the TV "on" first, then the combo? Viceversa?

I have to write a paper in my film class and need to find movie reviews from between 1910 and 1929 and I’m having trouble finding them online. Both the movie and the review have to be from that time period so it can’t be a recent review from a movie of that time.
Thanks!

Leonard Maltin’s Movie and Video Guide Book is also a wonderful tool. He publishes one each year. If you can get your hands on any book. He has thousands of movie reviews in them. The Library??

I used a Sony DVD-R blank disc to burn a movie but it only works on my PS3 and no other DVD player. I want to know what type of blank discs to buy next time, ones that will play on any DVD player, or the majority of them. Theres allooooot of types so be specific please. Thanks.

A DVR-R will work just fine, BUT
a) record in DVD-video format
b) finalize it

I want to tape a show on tv but it isn’t working since i don’t have the cable on the player.

I have a dvd/vhs recorder and it only works when i want to transfer a vhs to a dvd.

how can i record tv shows?

You need a separate tuner relative to your source. If you have cable, you want a cable box. If you have antenna, you want an antenna converter box. Whatever box you get has to have A/V out.

It’s a Panasonic combo which worked flawlessly until last night , when I was trying to copy a family tape to a blank DVD-R. It did not recognize the DVD and any other recorded or blank DVD after that. It still plays VCR tapes. Is there a way to reset it? Is it worth repairing? It was $250 three years back.

Well, I would suggest you don’t bring it in to be repaired BUT there is a relatively low-cost method that will probably fix your system. Buy a GOOD DVD cleaner kit. It will consist of a DVD that has a tiny strip of fibers glued to it. It will also include a tiny bottle of cleaning fluid. The lenses of some DVD players are extremely sensitive. Dust, smoke, humidity, and anything that can stick to the lens can interfere enough to cause the problems you described.

I just bought a dvd recorder and would like to be able to record from dvds. But I tried to hook up the dvd player to the recorder and got nothing. Please help. I also have a dvr box with my cable.

This is very easy and simple.
The output of the dvd player plug it in the input of the recorder, and the output of the dvd recorder plug it to the tv. Make sure the dvd recorder is in "LINE IN" otherwise you can not record anything, also, depends on what kind of dvd recorder is.
